Nymphs in their Nymph forms.
Nymphs are supreme fairies,[1] magical creatures from the Magic Dimension who appear in the Winx Club series.
Overview
All Nymphs are mostly humanoid in appearance.
Most Nymphs are known to have used their powers for good purposes and protect the Magic Dimension from the forces of evil. However some Nymphs are known to have allied themselves with the evil forces for their own selfish motives, such as Politea who betrayed Daphne and did not assist her against the Witches when she needed help the most, and the Ancestral Witches were able to place a curse on Sirenix. Some of these nymphs become Dark Nymphs.
Nymph/Fairy Form
There are differences in their forms. Some nymphs do not have wings and some do. Prior to the retconned and thus, the return of her Sirenix powers, Daphne was only seen in her nymph form which had no wings and she wore a gold dress. Since regaining her Sirenix powers, she is now seen in this form which has wings.
What is consistent are their dresses which are long, flowing and colorful. If they have wings, they are small and pink.
Magical Abilities
Most of the abilities of the Nymphs are unknown, the only few users among them who appeared in the series being Daphne, Politea, and Omnia who has been seen doing magic mostly in flashbacks. Their known abilities are:
- Flying without wings (Daphne)
- Opening portals to other worlds and realms (Daphne, Omnia)
- Turning magic back on itself (Politea)
- Reversing any spell (Omnia, Daphne)
- Breathing underwater (Omnia, Daphne, Politea)
- Convergence
- Energy and light projection
- Dragon's Flame (Daphne - formerly; Marlene, Janice, Diane)
Types of Nymphs
Guardian Nymphs
Daphne is the Nymph of Magix, Sirenix, and Domino.

Guardian Nymphs are guardians of their respective homeworlds, bound to protect them from evil and destruction. These nymphs achieve ultimate harmony with the Magic Dimension. The position of "Guardian Nymph" is forever a part of the aspiring nymphs. The most famous is Nymphs of Magix.
The Nymphs of Sirenix are guardians of the Infinite Ocean since ancient times. The Nymphs of Domino were tasked with guarding the Five-Headed Great Dragon that rests underneath Domino in a chamber located beneath the royal palace and watching over his sleep, and are guardians of their homeworld, Domino since the ancient times. The Nymphs of Domino are the only beings capable of controlling the Beast of the Depths, a creature who wields power stronger than the Dragon's Flame.
Nymphs of Magix
Nymph of Magix

The Nymphs of Magix were nine all-powerful Nymphs who ruled the destiny of the Magic Dimension following the Great Dragon's disappearance. According to legend, the home of the Nymphs is in Lake Roccaluce. They were apparently so respected that they were even represented on a Temple found at Magix.
Nymphs of Sirenix
Politea was a Nymph of Sirenix
Nymphs of Sirenix are supreme fairies who have earned the power of Sirenix. They all owned the ancient power born from the amagic of the oceans and they are responsible for protecting order in the Infinite Ocean. Daphne and Politea are the only known Nymphs of Sirenix.
Dark Nymphs
Nymphs of Domino

Issue 149 of the comic series reveals that there are nymphs who were tasked with guarding the Five-Headed Great Dragon that rests underneath Domino in a chamber located beneath the royal palace, watching over his sleep.
An act with such significance would be immortalized as stone statues each holding a flame within a special hall dedicated to each nymph that has graced its history. Older nymphs whose flames begin to die out select and train protégés to take their place once they become worthy enough.
There were at least three known groups of the Nymphs throughout history; the very first led by Daphne's ancestor thousands of years before the start of the series. Egerya, an older nymph, belonged to the second generation of the Guardian Nymphs, long before Daphne and the other nymphs were even born.
Dryads (Wood Nymphs)
According to Astro Winx, dryads are beautiful girls who are guardians of walnut and oak trees. They wear clothes made of leaves or bark. If their tree dies or gets cut down, the dryads will share the same fate. They can feel the heartbeat of nature, as well as predict the weather and its changes.
Undine (Water Nymphs)

Nereids (Sea Nymphs)
Mythology tells that Nereids are the daughters of the sea god, and apparently, there are fifty of them. They ride on mythical animals and come aiding sailors in trouble. The Nereids inherited everything from the water element.[2]
Trivia
- In Greek Mythology, Nymphs are minor nature deities associated with different aspects of nature.
- Politea is a nymph, but her uncorrupted form remains unknown, and it is unclear which of the two outfits shown in the series—if either—is said form.
