Rex is a PopPixie character. He is the leader of the Elves.
Appearance
Civilian
Rex has light purple eyes, with purple hair with blue at the tips of his hair. He wears a purple colored shirt with a long sleeved dark grey blue color mix with a dark blue tie and pocket hanky. He wears a long jeans with a dark purple belt with chains. On his left wrist he wears a spiked bracelet.
Personality
Rex is an arrogant and haughty Elf who has a big opinion of himself. He admires Maxine and thinks that the rest of the world is not worthy of his attention.
Rex has a brilliant mind and comes up with perfectly perfidious plans and schemes. The gang looks up to him and when they are bored it is Rex who has ideas on how to keep up the spirits of the gang.
Compared to the others, Rex has a more mature and criminal side to his character which often frightens even his companions. This aspect of his character particularly appeals to Maxine, his fiancée, who is very ambitious.
In "Meet Zumbo!", when Zumbo showed his gang and fiance family photos, it is revealed he can be embarrassed.
PopPixie
Rex is a recurring antagonist in various episodes, often causing trouble for the pixies in order to weaken the Tree of Life.
In "Lockette's Secret", Rex, along Lenny and Floxy, eats the Herculean Cake made by Lockette via Caramel's MagicPop. Transformed, he starts destroying the Molly Moo and is defeated by Caramel.
In "Bad Hair Day", Rex hatches a plan, ordering Rodrigo and Cleopatra to plant a "gift" of a stinking cactus in Pam's beauty salon, causing it to be closed for health violations. Afterward, he and Maxine, disguised as pixies, open their own salon, the Eighteenth Century Center, offering clients 18th-century wigs. While counting their profits after their first day, Rex and Maxine are caught by Bamboo, Pam, and Fixit. For their misdeed, Ninfea forces them to work as temporary assistants at Pam's salon for free.
Comics
Winx Club
In A Magical Invitation!, Rex and his gang send the Winx a fake magical invitation to mess with them. They watch the Winx and see that they end up with dinosaurs, then carnivorous plants, Rex says that he has never had so much fun. When the Winx try to teleport to Pixieville again, Rex uses the remote to teleport them to Cloud Tower, where they disrupt Griffin's lesson. They try to leave, but Griffin tells them that their invitation is enchanted with dark magic.
Tecna finds out with a galogram that the elves are to blame and when Rex says that it is time for them to leave, Lockette grabs the remote and they attack her, but are beaten by the Winx, who come to Pixie's aid in time. In the end, the elves apologize to the Winx and they make them clean up Pixieville.
PopPixie
In "Queen of Pixieville", Rex and his gang are robbing the homes of dwarves distracted by digging up the town. They notice the staff is unattended, so they take the opportunity to steal it. Rex uses the staff to taunt the dwarves, using it to enchant the pits so that something appears, which frightens the dwarves. The elves then spend time at home, enjoying their money and victory, but Lockette returns the staff.
Rex refuses to surrender, snatches it from her hands, and threatens to use its power to make all the pixies disappear, starting with her. The rest of Rex's gang joins the fight, but Lockette's friends come to her aid. Rex and the other elves are defeated and sent to dig up pits as punishment, and the staff is returned to Ninfea.
In "Meet Zumbo!", Rex and his gang fail to rob the Peaksville bank, so they escape on their bikes back to their house. Upon arriving, Rex notices another bike parked outside their house and doesn't understand whose it is, but he senses something is wrong. He goes inside to check, but is caught in Lenny's spring trap. Lenny is delighted that it worked, and then Rex falls into an empty pool. An old elf emerges from the house and introduces himself as Rex's grandfather, but Rex claims he doesn't know him. The old man then shows him family photos as proof, which embarrasses Rex.
Zumbo plays pranks on them, repeatedly teasing Rex specifically about how he's too much of a klutz to be the grandson of someone like him. Rex tells him to get lost, but Zumbo hatches a plan to wreak havoc in Pixieville and ruin Ninfea's birthday party, which includes stealing Caramel's cake. The elves ultimately fail, and Zumbo abandons them.
In "Girl's Play", Rex and Floxy robbed Amore's love shop, taking the all-seeing eye. They were about to board a motorcycle but couldn't find her, and a nearby janitor gnome told them the motorcycle had been taken because they parked it illegally. The elves took his broom, turning it into an oar, and conjured a flying boat for themselves, planning to escape.
Through the all-seeing eye, Rex saw a police officer about to catch up with them, so he fought him off, leaving him beaten on the ground. Rex and Floxy were caught by other police officers who realized they had stolen the janitor's broom. Amore arrives and tells them they stole her all-seeing eye too, but when the police search them, they find nothing, much to their surprise, unaware that Rex had previously thrown the eye onto a bus to hide the evidence.
The elves successfully escape and plan to retrieve the eye from the bus, but it drives away, so they chase after it. They reach the stadium where the bus was parked and assume the eye was hidden in a nearby shed, but find only pixieball balls there. They enter, but a muscular gnome throws them out. The elves devise a plan to participate in pixieball, hiding their identities, in order to find the all-seeing eye among the balls. Maxine casts a spell on the members of Team Pixieville Lightning, giving them diarrhea, and they are eliminated. Team Elves play in the finals against Team Steel Roses. They find the all-seeing eye but lose, and Amore returns it.
In "The Magic Candle", the elves decided to throw a birthday party for Rex, but he was confused and told them to be ashamed, as such parties were so pixie-themed. Floxy said Rex himself had told them to throw this party for him, but he replied that he had no idea what it was about, but he wouldn't refuse gifts. Maxine told him to take his time, as he had to blow out the candles first, as birthdays had rules, and her fiancé reluctantly agreed.
Suddenly, the other elves were blown away by foam. Rex looked at the front door, and there was his grandfather, Zumbo, holding a fire extinguisher. The old man told them all to forget about candles, as they should use the one he was holding; it was very big. Lenny laughed at this, but Zumbo replied that it wasn't just any candle, it was magic, and if Rex lit it, Pixieville would turn to wax. Rex decided to seize the opportunity and ordered Lenny to bring their bikes for another raid on Pixieville. Zumbo sternly warned his grandson, reminding him that the spell only works when the candle is lit, to which Rex rudely retorted that he wasn't as anachronistic as he was.
The spell worked, and the entire ground and floor of Pixieville became waxy, causing the inhabitants to slide. Rex and his gang rob Molly Moo, stealing cakes and cupcakes. Martino and Caramel tried to stop them, but Rex used a spell to trap them in cream. They also rob Grind's bank, and Rex ironically tells him to look at it as a sports game, which he lost and leaves with the loot. Chatta, Fixit, and Cherie wouldn't put up with this, so they smash the elves' bikes, trapping them in waxy ground where they couldn't move. They imprisoned them in yellow wax, leaving them to be judged by the angry crowd.
In "Cool Bike", Rex attempts to concoct a potion of pepper, carrots, and fuel to speed up his bike. The bike doesn't go any faster and just sits there, indicating something's wrong. Maxine is clearly not happy about this, to which Rex, with a nervous smile, replies that he probably overdid it with the pepper.
Books
In "A Gift for Chatta", When Rex and Maxine corrupt the Pixiebots with dark magic, they go out of control and wreak havoc in the city, but Fixit fixes everything, returning everything to normal and earning a MagicPop for it.
Magical Abilities
Rex has knowledge of basic magic such as telekinesis and magical attacks. He is also capable of casting dark spells and enchanting objects.
Trivia
- "Rex" means king in Latin.[1]
- This reflects how he is the leader of the elves.
- According to the family photos of Zumbo, Rex was a pacifist child with a terrible haircut.
- His voice actress, Eleanor Noble also voiced Icy in the Cinélume dub.
- In "Cool Bike" it is revealed that, unlike Maxine, Rex is nowhere near as good as his fiance when it comes to potion making.
- It is possible Rex became leader of the elves younger than he should've.
- This means something might have happened to his parents(with one of them being the leader of the elves before him) that led to Rex to take the role as leader of the elves before he was ready.
- Becoming leader of the elves before he was old enough could also explain why he went from a pacifist child to who he is now in PopPixie.
- This means something might have happened to his parents(with one of them being the leader of the elves before him) that led to Rex to take the role as leader of the elves before he was ready.
